Holly & Julian
We live here. This is our home in Hanley’s Farm, on the edge of Jack’s Point, under The Remarkables. We host because we enjoy it. That’s the whole reason.
Julian teaches snowboarding up the hill in winter and will gladly talk all things snow and mountains with you. Holly’s been a local for 15 years and is the one to ask about walks, road trips and everything Queenstown, when she’s not at the dental clinic. We’re around a lot, evenings especially, and easy to reach any time.
Why we host “We’re social, and we love sharing what’s special about this place. Meeting people from all over the world is honestly the best part of hosting.”
There’s no secret to the 5-star reviews. The house is warm when you arrive. You’ll have your door code before you get here, so you can come and go as you please without waiting around for a key handover. Our tips are places we actually go, not another brochure list of tourist traps.
See you soon.
Holly, Julian, Rocket & Luna.
Rocket & Luna
Fair warning: Rocket is an attention hog. He wants the pats, he’ll try to sit on you, and he’ll push his head into your legs like a bulldozer. Hold firm and push back, that’s the game. Luna is perpetually hungry, sneaky, and an absolute slave for food.
Two small asks: please don’t feed them human food or from the table, and please don’t let them into the kitchen.
Not a dog person, or a bit nervous? No problem. We’ll keep them away from you completely, and the unit has its own private entrance. Just tell us when you book.
Staying in the Two Bedroom Unit? The internal door between the unit and our home stays locked during your stay, so the dogs stay completely separate. Want to meet Rocket and Luna anyway? Just ask. Travelling with your own dog? See the Two Bedroom Unit page for our by-arrangement policy.

“Super clean and comfortable room and they made you feel right at home. Plus Luna and Rocket are absolutely adorable.”
“The room and en suite was very spacious and comfortable! Their dogs Rocket and Luna are so lovely and friendly we will miss them!”

Wood-fired hot tub, under the Southern sky
We light the fire and get the tub to temperature, show you how to keep it where you like it, then close our blinds and leave you to it.
Up to 4 people, heated to 37 to 42 degrees. We heat the tub to order, so pricing and availability depend on the day, ask us when you enquire. Swimwear required, please shower before use.
Ask about the hot tub“A pleasant evening in the hot tub was very relaxing... We highly recommend!”
“還有 Rocket 和 Luna 兩隻可愛的小狗,他們很熱情又親人。”And Rocket and Luna, two adorable little dogs, so warm and affectionate.

Location & getting around
We're in Hanley's Farm, at the Jack's Point end, under The Remarkables. A car is strongly recommended. The nearest bus stop is about a 10-minute walk, but services are limited.
Full address, parking and arrival directions are sent as soon as you book. See our guides for where we eat and what we do nearby.
Our favourite coffee spot? Our own kitchen. If Julian's around, he'll gladly make you a coffee. The next nearest good coffee is the Jack's Point golf clubhouse, a lovely place to spend an hour or two with a stunning view.
On busy days, leave around 7am to beat the queues and the traffic. Chat with us the night before and we'll tell you what the morning looks like.
Winter conditions
Heading up the hill? Live figures for The Remarkables, Coronet Peak and Cardrona, refreshed through the day.

Before you book
The questions guests ask us most.
Can I check in late?
Yes, genuinely fine. Self check-in from 3:00pm, arrive whenever suits.
Can I check in early or drop bags?
Often yes, just ask us.
Is the kitchen shared?
In the Guest Room, yes: you'll share our kitchen, and we clear the top shelf of the fridge for you. The Two Bedroom Unit has its own full kitchen, in the attached unit.
What's the heating like?
Underfloor heating throughout. It's very cosy but slow to respond, so we pre-warm the space before you arrive.
Is there a cleaning fee?
Yes: $50 for the Guest Room, $100 for the Two Bedroom Unit. It's a one-time fee and applies whether you book direct or via Airbnb.
Do I need a car?
Recommended. There's an Orbus stop about a 10-minute walk away, but buses are infrequent and take cash or a Bee Card only (no credit cards on board). A car is the practical option out here.
Are the dogs around?
As much or as little as you like. Rocket and Luna are friendly and part of the home, but if you'd rather not, we'll keep them away from you completely, just tell us when you book.
Is the tap water safe to drink?
Yes, straight from the tap. New Zealand tap water is safe to drink.
